June | When Consistency is Key

JuneJunio_LogoDiasehs

¡Feliz Junio Mis Reinas! This is my month! Have you ever started off the month with a bang, and you just know that THIS month is going to be a prosperous, uplifting and enlightening 30 days? Let me tell you what led to all of these positive feelings…

Work was giving me all types of hell. When I say that, I do not mean work related to blogging but 9 to 5 work. In my case, 9:00 a.m. to midnight. Sunrise beyond sunset work. Three words will explain the entire situation…Private Venue Management.

Ding! That’s it! What did I gain from this you ask?

Fewer headaches, a work schedule that makes sense, a new office and the opportunity to actually see the outside world on the weekend. I AM IN HEAVEN! As the month came to a close, there was one last event that made everything so much… sweeter.

Maluma…Juan Luis Londoño Arias…Pretty Boy…Dirty Boy…I had been waiting for this concert for so long! Amway Center in Orlando was packed, but it was so worth it. Check that one off of the list! Head over to my Instagram for concert videos.

MalumaOrlando_Diasehs

For June, I want to focus on one thing. This one works magic in many areas of my life.

Consistency.

I would like to have more consistency in the following areas of my life: Content creation, travel and saying “yes”. If you know anyone who coordinates events, creates content or does any type of marketing for a living…You know why this is a thing. Creating content is a constant struggle. Anyone with half an imagination can come up with things to talk about or take pictures of. The real struggle is creating/doing things that are original. Doing your own thing with little to no influence. It takes time, and now that I have this glorious schedule…I will have more time for blogging. AMEN!

Travel will always be on my list. Why? Travel is my way to recoup. It helps me clear my mind, gain inspiration and just be free! It doesn’t matter if I travel within my same state or out of the country. I just need new experiences. I am going to OWN my summer!

When you go through large changes, whether they are related to work or your personal life, you may find yourself being a little overwhelmed at first. Who wouldn’t?! When I would get stressed, the first thing I would tend to do is say no to everything. Back in November, all I could do is say yes, and I left no time for myself. As of lately, I wouldn’t want to do anything extra or change my schedule for fear that it would add more stress or throw me off. This past month, I got out of that crazy cycle, and I intend to keep it that way!

Saying yes, in moderation, is a way to invite new and positive experiences into your life.

Rocksbox Review: December 2017

It’s the beginning of January, and you know what that means! It is time to spill the tea on my Rocksbox from December. This box was important for all of my style needs for the month and for the 24th because it was my BIRTHDAY! What self-respecting fashionista wouldn’t want new jewelry for her special day?

PS: Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! It really made my day!

With this set, all three items were pulled from my wish list. My stylist for this set was Jamie, and she is the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time)! While opening my package, I realized that all of the pieces were from Perry Street. If you are up to date on all my reviews, you know that Perry Street is my absolute FAVORITE!

Rocksbox_Diasehs_December17

If you are not up to date and wondering what a Rocksbox is…Let me bring you up to speed.

Rocksbox is a jewelry service that presents its members with a subscription box every month for a flat rate. The pieces are all designer brands, and come in an array of styles. If  this is your first time hearing about this company or want even more details…

Check out my first Rocksbox review!

Let us continue…

Rocksbox_StylistMemo1217_Diasehs

Let me clue you in on some of my expectations for this box:

“The best things in life are unexpected, because there were no expectations.” – Eli Khamarov

Well Eli, that’s all nice and dandy, but I was expecting a Rocksbox, I was expecting it to be amazing, I set my expectations HIGH, and I was not disappointed!

I was in need of some statement pieces with gold accents. One of the main things I wanted was a pop of color, but I didn’t want the pieces to look like they were spring/summer only. All-season jewelry are you out there?

I really wanted something coral or close to it. I have strayed away from wearing a lot of pink in my accessories, but I was feeling a little frilly so why not?

The final and most important was that I needed something that was white. I know that might sound strange, but hear me out. I was hoping for a necklace that had white in it to go with a particular outfit. The outfit is very streetwear appropriate, but it needs a feminine flare.

Here goes! *blows out birthday candles*

I received everything my little heart desired and then some! Let’s dig into this box shall we?

Compare & Contrast

When looking at the pictures on the Rocksbox site versus the actual pieces…The only thing that is a bit off was…ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I was surprised at the actual quality of the preview photos this time. The photos were true to color, so I received exactly what I expected!

I opened the box and yelled out

Zayum Zaddy!

BONUS: I HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU SO KEEP READING! IF YOU FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK & TWITTER… YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT.

After a well-deserved twerking session, I finally pulled the first piece from the box. These were my Perry Street Mallory Statement Drops. Yes, you read it correctly. I said drops!

Fifth_Harmony_Split

If someone were to ask me to describe these earrings without actually seeing them…I would definitely say these are Legally Blonde meets Betsey Johnson, and I feel like that’s fair. These earrings are post backed and have shiny gold plating over the brass pieces. I love that the pink stones are the only bright shade within the piece. The other stones are a medium tone champagne, a blush/wine shade and your oh so classic clear stones. I give this piece two extra points just for the spikes! Sooo…little babies you are a 10!

Perry Street_Mallory_Far

*Grabs loud speaker* Jamie, could you wrap those for me please? Thank you!

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price for this pair of earrings is $59 USD

The retail price is $70 USD

Ladies, Gentlemen-Ladies, Pre-Ladies, Post-Ladies, Sistas and Homegirls…Have you ever looked at a necklace and debated how you would wear your hair in that very moment? You did this not realizing that was your make or break on buying that singular piece of jewelry? That was me the very second I opened the luscious black bag that this baby came in.

Perry Street_Colette_Far

My bun will be so huge! My lashes will be done! My nails will be so nice!

*Plays No Limit Remix by G-Eazy ft. A$AP Rocky, Cardi B, French Montana, Juicy J, Belly at 1:49 mark*

G_Eazy_Cardi_B_NL

This necklace is much more beautiful in person. The picture on the site does not do it justice! When natural light hits the necklace only then you can see all the colors in the iridescent stones. The other beautiful additions to this piece are the white stones and clear crystals.

The chain on the necklace measures out to 16”, and that’s LONG for a statement necklace. However, a little wiggle room never hurt anyone. Just like the previous piece, the necklace has pieces that have gold plating over brass. Now that I think about it…I love it more on the necklace than the previous piece.

R E A S O N: The gold that is over the necklace is not overly shiny. It has a natural and almost vintage flare.

Perry Street_Colette_Close

I can definitely see this being an all-season piece. Now that I have shared this piece and all of its glory, I am sure you are thinking…”Woman how much does it cost?” I’m so glad you asked!

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price for this necklace is $63 USD

The retail price is $75 USD

Cop or Drop?

*Grabs loud speaker* Jamie, we might need a bigger bag!

This is getting serious. I have never been this excited about an entire box before.

Perry Street_Jane_Far

This next one brings me back to a childhood favorite because I have always loved turquoise! These are the Jayne Drops by Perry Street. While this precious pair is not gold plated, the silver plating makes the colors stand out beautifully. The Rocksbox description mentions clear and blue crystal accents. There are green and yellow crystal accents as well. These definitely give me fancy Coachella vibes!

Let’s take a closer look shall we?

Perry Street_Jayne_Close

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price for this pair of earrings is $46 USD

The retail price is $55 USD

Cop or Drop?

*Pulls out megaphone* Jamie! That’s a wrap! Let’s tell them what they’ve won!

Motivation Sundae: 10 Ways to Relieve Holiday Stress

MotivationSundaeLogo_Diasehs

November has definitely arrived, and it came with physical and emotional holiday baggage. It generally starts with busier work weeks and ends with last-minute holiday shopping.

Today I’m going to give you 10 surefire ways to relieve stress during the holiday season!

1 | Take a hike! I don’t mean that in a harsh way, but literally put on your favorite sneakers and get moving in the morning. Due to the fall weather changes, the weather in the morning is less humid and the atmosphere makes a great start for any busy day.

Motivation: A killer playlist! You can make your own or snag one from Apple Music or Spotify.

2 | Feeling overwhelmed? Find a nice stopping point, kick back and watch a holiday favorite! There’s nothing that helps me more when I’m stressed than getting a good laugh in! All of the Home Alone movies get me in a better mood.

Motivation: Before you start a project, plan a good stopping point. This way you have your break to look forward to!

3 | Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Get the family involved! We all have the tendency to try play superwoman during the holiday season. Having someone help you not only lessens your stress, but it also gives you a chance to bond with those you love.

Motivation: Look on Pinterest and find some cute recipes or decoration DIY’s to do with the family or something that adds a little romance for you and your significant other while still getting things done. Wine tasting while gift wrapping sounds good to me!

4 | Relax with the girls! When engulfed in things to do, you sometimes forget that you’re not the only one who is struggling. Phone some friends or your best friend for a spa date! This will give you a chance to relax and maybe even be each other’s therapist for the day. Nothing makes dishpan hands look better than a fresh manicure.

Motivation: Check out the new holiday colors from Essie and OPI. That will definitely get you in the mood to head to the nail salon!

5 | Honey I’m home! It’s time to get a good cuddle session in. Grab your boo and snuggle up! Hugging, kissing and other physical acts increase oxytocin levels. This reduces blood pressure, stress and anxiety.

Motivation: Send your love a cute/steamy text mid day to prepare them for later activities. This will also let them know that you were thinking about them, and that is a pick me up for anyone!

6 | Light a candle! This might seem so simple, but it really does work. My favorite candle has always been the Mahogany Teakwood candle by White Barn. You can find them at Bath and Body Works. The scent reminds me of cologne, and it’s so soothing! The scent instantly gets me in a good mood.

Motivation: Kill two birds with one stone! Find a scent you love and play it up in your holiday decor this season. You are now more relaxed and have a new decorative twist! Most three wick candles have beautiful containers that match any aesthetic.

7 | Warm it up! For most of us, from birth to adulthood, there is one thing that stays consistent, and that is the love of wrapping up in a blanket! Grab your favorite blanket or comforter and throw it in the dryer just long enough for it to hold and some heat. While it’s in the dryer set up your area of relaxation. Once you pull it out of the dryer, immediately wrap yourself in it. Kick back and relax! Blankets are a sense of security. The warmth will be soothing and help reduce anxiety.

8 | Spend time with your pet! Take a moment to relax with them or take them along for the ride while running a few errands. This will give you some company and get them out of the house for a bit.

Motivation: Grabbing something from Starbucks or Dutch Bros? Take your dog with you! Puppuccinos are a real thing. It’s whipped cream to us and heaven to them.

9 | Everybody clap your hands! I️ know this one may sound a bit strange, but it definitely works! Clapping your hands increases circulation and activates receptors in your hands. This fires up parts of the brain and gets that noodle going!

Motivation: If you don’t want to just stand around clapping, bring in the little ones! Grab your child, cousin, niece or nephew and teach them how to play Patty Cake or Miss Mary Mack. This will be amusing for the both of you and 9 time out of 10 will make you laugh. #winning

10 | Take a hot bath/shower! This one is a must for me and many others. Hot water will ease your mind and also soothe stiff/sore muscles. Grab your favorite bath bomb and soak your stress away.

Motivation: Drop by your local Lush location or visit Lush.com and load up on all the bath goodies! My favorite bath bombs right now are: Shoot for the Stars and Sex Bomb.

NOVEMBER | CREATIVITY, SUCCESS & BALANCE

HAPPY NOVEMBER LOVES! Let me start this post with a HUGE apology. I have truly been missing in action. Given, I could have given a warning, but I have my reasons which I will share right now…

  1. Work has been the biggest pain in my butt since my childhood vaccinations.
  2. Your girl needed time to reflect, relax and have some peace of mind.
  3. My mind was in a creative slump, and I needed time to regroup. Pinterest wasn’t helping me.

Due to all of these things, I went on a temporary hiatus from the second week in September to the second week in October. #HelloVacation

During this time, I discovered many things about myself, remembered a few things to help me get back on track and had a influx of creative ideas. I am back now, and I have a new outlook for the month of November. This month I want to embrace creativity as a whole. I don’t want to just focus on creativity within my blog, on Instagram, on Facebook, on Twitter or on YouTube. I want to expand my creativity to all platforms including my regular every day life. I’ve gotten back into doing a few projects, and I purchased some new camera equipment, so that has definitely given me a boost to get some new things done.

My work schedule has gotten back to a normal and consistent baseline as of lately. Now I have more time to physically sit down at my desk, get my life together and actually create some worthy content. I want to get back into the habit of posting at least twice a week and recording videos regularly. I’ve started doing so, but I need to be a little bit more consistent. Progress is what makes the world go around, and as long as I am progressing, I can be happy.

This month I also want to focus on success. Too often I find myself critiquing little things about my content or things at work, etc. I’ve come to the conclusion that I focus more on my failures than my successes. That is the WRONG thing to do when you are trying to get some pep in your step! There was a tip I learned a while back about making to do lists.

*Pauses to put on glasses and clear throat*

Instead of doing the traditional to do list as one long column of things that need to be done and checking them off as you go… you should make two columns/lists! The first column/list should be a to do list and the second should be a done list. Thank you Lilly Singh for making my life so much easier. This way, at the end of the day, you can see all the things that you HAVE accomplished and not just focus on the things that you HAVE NOT accomplished. All people/ideas in history that have been successful have reached that success with few or many drawbacks. No one or thing is perfect, and that is definitely something to remember.

The last focus point that I want to expand on today is balance. I love agendas, and anything that I can write down my little notes on because sometimes my phone doesn’t cut it. I am an old-fashioned pen and paper type of girl when it comes to planning out my weeks, months and year for that matter. Last year, I got a Big Happy Planner from a company called Me and My BIG Ideas, and I fell in love with it! This year I did the same thing, and it definitely helps me in the category of balance. Another part of my journey to balance is knowing when to just say NO. I’ve always been that person to get the job done, always think of other people before myself, never say never, and always be the one to find the answer.

Majority of the time these are all great characteristics to have… especially when you are in your mid 20’s and work for the government. *raises hand slowly*

However, it came to the point where I was saying so much “yes” and not enough “no” that my body started to shut down mentally and physically. I would always be tired, I would feel sick, I would always have a chip on my shoulder, and that’s just not the person that I am. I’ve gotten to the point now where if my body is telling me no and I know that I can afford to have time to myself, I will definitely take it, and it is paying off tremendously! #healthandwellness #selflove

Off Day Pamper Routine 2017

PamperRoutine_OffDay_Diasehs

I’m free! My busy work weekend is over, and I am exhausted. I’m an Event Coordinator, and I have a crazy work schedule at times so, when I can squeeze in a little self time…I AM ALL FOR IT!

For the past couple of months, I have been experimenting with a few new products and falling in love with some old favorites. This pamper day usually falls on a business day. That is huge for me! I am not disturbed as much because almost everyone I know is at work…Don’t make that face. I love you guys!

Let the pampering begin!

The first part isn’t exactly pampering at all. It’s part of my daily therapy…Coffee! I love having something hot to drink after waking up in the morning. I’m feeling in the fall spirit this morning, so I am going to enjoy some pumpkin spice creamer from Califia Farms. It’s so good! If you haven’t tried it, this is an absolute must have for any fall coffee junkie.

Pumpkin Coffee Creamer_Diasehs

To begin any magical off day, I must watch at least one episode of Sex and the City. The older the episode…the better! Everything Carrie Bradshaw makes my heart sing.

Sex and the City_Diasehs

I can’t start a pamper day without taming this crazy mess on my head! Ok, not so much a mess, but I don’t like going for a certain amount of days without washing my hair.

Can I get an amen? Thank you!

PamperRoutine_Diasehs

The Breakdown

This is the Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and matching conditioner by Shea Moisture. I purchased this set from my local Walgreens.

The conditioner has a soft honey scent. The shampoo smells much more like the oils than the conditioner does. Both products are sulfate free and for dry hair. In my opinion, this is an all around set. They also contain African Rock Fig and Baobab Oil.

Shea Moisture Honey_Diasehs

According to the product description and my own personal research…

Manuka Honey has anti-inflammatory properties, it soothes the scalp and helps create a moisturizing barrier.

Mafura Oil has high levels of hair thickening & strengthening Oleic Acid. It also helps replenish oils that are stripped from the hair during our everyday activities.

The African Rock Fig contains Vitamin C, and this aids in keeping our hair strong and vibrant. This also improves the hair’s elasticity. #winning

Baobab Oil is rich in Omegas 3, 6, 9 and vitamins that repair the hair from root to end. This oil adds extra shine to the hair and protects it from pollution & UV rays.

After shampooing my hair, I will let my conditioner sit on my hair while I slide into the next part of my routine…

TheDryBrush_Diasehs

Eco Tools Brush_Diasehs

Dry brushing is somewhat new to me. In the past I would use a regular shower brush. The all over kind that you wet, cover in body wash and use to scrub all over. The first time I used this dry brush I was so confused. It hurt! I felt like I had been slapped in the leg, chest, neck, thigh…just everywhere. This is good for overall exfoliation, and it preps my body for the next part of my pamper routine..but beware…scrubbing too hard might make you change your religion. It WILL hurt.

EcoTools_Diasehs

This dry brush is from Eco Tools! You can snag this one at your local Ulta or Ulta.com

Time for some mango love! I will shower regularly, shave, rinse my hair and all that jazz after my dry brushing session. Once my hair is pinned back up and out of the way, it’s time to use my Shea Sugar Scrub by Tree Hut. The scent is Tropical Mango, and this one is my absolute favorite!

Tree Hut Tropical Mango_Diasehs

Tiny Tip: If you add a bit of coconut oil to this body scrub, it will moisturize the skin, add a nice glow to your body and hold the scent much longer! Who doesn’t love smelling like a tropical paradise?

Depending on what I have going on with my hair at this point (natural hair or weave), I generally let it stay in the clip until after my next step.

Time for a much needed face mask! I know my skin probably hates me right now due to all the mess I have been up to the past few weeks, but….that’s why I purchased the I’m Real Cactus Mask Sheet by Tony Moly. I got this particular one from Urban Outfitters when I was in Scottsdale, AZ. No Urban Outfitters? That’s ok! You can pick them up at Ulta, Amazon or the Tony Moly website.

Tony Moly Cactus Mask-Diasehs

This mask is loaded with so much yummy goodness, including prickly pear extract. Keep in mind…I did say MASK SHEET, so expect to look a little crazier than the usual.

TonyMoly_Cactus_Diasehs

After 20 minutes, I peeled the mask off and rinsed my face with warm water, then cold water to seal in all the greatness! I always add Vitamin E cream to my face and lip balm  after doing a mask.

Voilà! Cleansed, hydrated, happy skin!

PinkBow1_Diasehs

Time to slay! At this point I will finish drying my hair and style it to my liking. I’m feeling straight hair this go around! After having curls and waves for the past few days, and I need to switch it up.

HairPamper_Diasehs

The final portion of my pamper routine is to change my polish color! This past time I chose a coral pink color, and I am completely bored with that. Today’s choice is a nude shade. I love a nice, natural color sometimes. Strangely enough, the nail polish that I chose came from Old Navy! Before this polish I did not know that they sold nail polish at all. It’s a pale blush/nude polish by Tip Toe, and it is called Ballerina.

ROCKSBOX REVIEW: JUNE 2017

I cherish my relationships…I look forward to telling you my needs and wants. I enjoy knowing that you’re coming my way…Bringing me everything my heart desires. You stand at my door and ask for me by name…This is the relationship that I cherish with my mailman. I am here to say that sadly…this time…the postal service has failed me. Someone lost my box. Sooooo no package on time and no sexy mailman, but after speaking with Erin at Rocksbox, she put her glorious customer service skills to work. With her hard work & some fast shipping…I GOT MY NEW BOX!!

Do you know what that means?

It’s time for another Rocksbox review!

With this set, I was sent two items on my wish list and one that was randomly chosen. My stylist for this set was Cassie, and I love the way she thinks!

Perry Street Rocksbox

But before I get into all the glamorous details…

Rocksbox is a jewelry service that presents its members with a subscription box every month for a flat rate. The pieces are all designer brands, and come in an array of styles. If  this is your first time hearing about this company or want even more details…

Check out my first Rocksbox review!

Let us continue…

Rocksbox Stylist Note Cassie

Let me clue you in on some of my expectations for this box:

  1. I was hoping that since was my replacement box that my pieces would be SUPER BOMB! I had VERY high expectations for this box!
  2. I was in need of some vibrant colors. I mean… It is summer after all, and I had to let my inner island goddess shine through. *Snaps fingers & slings hair*
  3. I did not want anything heavy or super bunched up. That means no chokers, cuff bracelets or huge door knocker earrings. You all know what earrings I’m talking about. The ones that are super cute, but make your ears look like they are going to fall off. Not me. No ma’am! I like standing out, but baby don’t make me look like a walking Pinterest jewelry board!

After receiving my box…ALL OF MY DREAMS CAME TRUE!! I will be keeping two of the three items. Why not all three? I’ll let you know in just a bit…Keep reading.

Compare & Contrast

When looking at the pictures on the Rocksbox site versus the actual pictures…The only thing that is a bit off involves the earrings. This is nothing too major, unless you’re trying to match this exact color to an outfit. The stone in the center of the top portion is a different color. On the site it appears to be a pastel orange. This is not the case. In reality, it is more like a nude color. I wouldn’t necessarily put it in the orange family. Everything else is true to size regarding proportion and color in all three pieces.

BONUS: I HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU SO KEEP READING! IF YOU FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM & TWITTER… YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT.

When I opened the box, the first piece I pulled out was my Perry Street Elise Statement Necklace. This brand is one of my absolute favorites! They are good for having pieces with borderline iridescent crystals.  The only crystals in this necklace that are truly clear are the tiny ones at the bottom. The large teardrop stones are clear with a bit of a yellow cloud tint. It makes the necklace look very vintage! The chain has a metal has a burnish gold finish, and that in my eyes is an added bonus. The three stones at the bottom of each section of the necklace are a semi opaque white/heather grey. This necklace is so aesthetically pleasing! This piece has a lot of latch space so don’t worry about if it will be too short or not. The row of hooks tops out at a good 11 spaces.

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price for this necklace is $63 USD

Perry Street for the WIN!! *Screams like Golden State Warrior’s Fan* Two Perry Street pieces in one box? It must be my lucky day! I am in love with these earrings, and they are something I have been looking for. I needed a pair of dangling earrings that were cute enough to dress up or down, and I needed a pair of statement earrings for an upcoming event. These beautiful babies were one of my granted wishes.

I present to you the Perry Street Ombre Turquoise Statement Earrings.

Perry Street Ombre

Details, Details! If I had to compare these earrings to a movie I would be stuck between Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Interview with a Vampire. Laugh at me if you must, but I have my reasons. B.A.T. for the elegance and they scream socialite. I.W.A.V. because Brad Pitt plays an 18th century lord who is now a vampire, and these earrings SCREAM 18th century fashion! Plus they have dark parts that are so fitting.

Perry Street Ombre Detail

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price for this beautiful pair of earrings is $63 USD

Not a fan of large earrings? Like necklaces even more? You’re in luck! There is a Perry Street necklace that looks like these earrings and the previous necklace had a baby.

Loren Hope…You brought a non alcoholic Tequila Sunrise to my life! This is the Sylvia Necklace in Paradise Red, and it is straight up gorgeous! Only one thing…this necklace is ORANGE not RED, but that is obvious. This necklace is a bit closer to the neckline than the previous, and has about 5 hooks of clasp space. The antique brass finish on this piece makes the stone color pop even more. I give the construction of this necklace a 10 out of 10. Reason? Each individual stone is hooked to the necklace three different ways. I have received so many compliments on this piece that it is unreal. It’s simple yet amazing at the same time. This was also one of my granted wishes!

Loren Hope Tequila Sunrise

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price for this necklace is $216 USD

Loren Hope Tequila Sunrise Close

I’m sure you’re scratching your head thinking, “Why is this piece so much higher than the rest?” Because it’s Loren Hope that’s why! Also, all of the stones are hand painted.

Painless Slay: 6 Ways to Make Heels More Comfortable

Spring Heel Diasehs

Ladies, spring is in full effect, and with a new season comes some new pieces added to your wardrobe. The first thing I go shopping for is shoes! Today, I’m going to give you 6 tips and tricks to make your slay a little less painful.

Keep it Low

It’s so tempting to reach for those sky-high stilettos, but your feet will not be thanking you later. Look for a cute pair of shoes in the kitten heel to 3 inch range. Not liking that idea? Look around town for a great shoe repair shop. Most places can shorten the heel of your shoe without changing the overall style.

Disco Fever

I’m not going to ask you to pull out your big wig and body glitter, but platform height on a pair of heels is super important. High heels in the 4-5 inch range feel much more comfortable with a thicker platform. You still get that sexy height that you are looking for, and the platform helps you find a nice, even balance. Dance the night away!

Watch Your Step!

Many of us learn to walk in heels from various people or scenarios: watching a mom or sister, pageants or the most common “self-taught” strut.

Truth be told, there really is a proper way to walk in heels. Walk heel-to-toe, and be sure to keep good posture. I’m not saying you have to walk with a book on your head, but please carry yourself gracefully.

Bonus: Do you have to climb a lot of stairs in your daily life? No fear! Stair rails are your best friend. Also, be sure to use the ball of your shoe only when going up the steps. This will help prevent the missed step slip and fall.

Give Them a Test Run

How many times have you made the last minute statement, “I need to find some new shoes to wear tonight!” Yes…Yes you. Don’t feel bad because we have all done it… Only to learn that we should have grabbed that favorite pair of killer heels out of the closet. If you’re going for some high heels, never wear them straight out of the box. Break them in some! Wear them around the house and get a good feel for them.

Bonus: Breaking in some pumps? Use an old school trick! Put on a pair of thick socks, and wear your shoes inside for a while. This little space will give you a bit of added comfort for when you wear them out!

Know Your Body

Everyone’s feet are different, and even though shoes have names (I have a favorite pair of heels named Stecy)…they are not made with each specific shopper in mind. If you have a wider foot, shop for a wide fit. Most popular brands have a width option. If you have flat feet, try not to wreak havoc on your arches with anything more than three inches. You will thank me later, I promise.

Walk on Air

Gel inserts are now more shoe specific than they have ever been! If you feel pressure on the ball of your foot while walking or they slide around in your new babies, it might be time to gel it up. The inserts will add comfort to your step and add resistance so that pain will be a minimized or non-existent factor. Dr. Scholl’s has a line of inserts made specifically for heels. Need a pair? Click here!

Remember, fashion is a form of personal expression. Be bold and get out of your comfort zone! Grab that animal print or bright color. Let your shoes speak for you! Leave a comment below, and let me know what your favorite spring shoe/shoe trend is for 2017.

Naughty Bits: Will They Be Good In Bed?

This question has crossed the mind of every sexually active person…”I wonder if they are good in bed”…”I wonder if he/she can do   insert naughty sexual favor  well.” Of course you can’t judge how a person is in bed at first glance, and hopefully you’re not reading this in attempt to figure out your new Tinder boo after 30 minutes of texting.

Let’s start off with pre-sex judgement.

Think about the last time you were really into someone. Before you knew how they were in the sack…What did you think about their skills in the bedroom? Good? Bad? or … “We aren’t going to make it that far.”

Hopefully the answer is good, and if so….What made you think they were good in bed? I know my personal beliefs (which I will share later), but I wanted to know the thoughts of a few others…and if you ask…you generally shall receive.

Sexy Sheets

I asked the wonderful people of social media an initial question…

“Do you prejudge your partner’s skills before sex?”

I got some interesting answers…and some a little kinkier than expected.

♀ | 1Definitely.

Self: Do you keep your expectations high or low, and why?

♀ | 1: Depends all on the vibe from the person. I can typically judge beforehand whether or not that mental/emotional connection will be there.

♀ | 2: Uummmm, well …….Yeah & No. Yeah cause I don’t like sexual surprises a.k.a I’d rather NOT be disappointed, but I’m pretty open to having to teach lmao!

♀ | 3: Yup lmao!

Self: Do you go in with low or high expectations?

♀ | 3: Depends on how buddy look and dress.

♂ | 1: You never know how good anyone is in the sack until you get there…People you think are shy normally could turn into freaks in the bed. People you think are outgoing could have sex like a fish on land. It’s a guessing game to be honest. I’ve had a wide range.

♀ | 4: I guess it really depends on the person.

Self: What would make you think a person is good in bed?

♀ | 4: Confidence.. But not too much. Cockiness to me is a sign of bad sex.

♀ | 5: No, prejudging often causes you to set yourself up for disappointment.

Self:  If the person is bad in bed is that a deal breaker for you?

♀ | 5: Depends because some people are teachable while others are simply just a no go. Sex is more than just laying in bed with someone, it’s more passionate than anything. You have to connect on a sexual level mentally and physically.

♂ | 2: Hell naw. Cuz every girl is different and you would be surprised and who got it and who don’t.

Self: What’s a deal breaker for you?

♂ | 2: Well I’m not big on standards personally. Petty, bad breath, and ugly feet are absolute no’s.

♂ | 3: Yep lol

Self: What makes you think a person would be good in bed? Signs?

| 3: Confidence, the way she kisses, the details she gives in a dirty text message…Lol

♀ | 6: I always expect them to be mediocre. However I’ve got credentials and references for my skills, so I don’t care if they judge before experiencing or not. Matter of time before they see the truth.

| 4: It might cross my mind, especially if the girl is really hot, but if she tells me she likes 50 Shades, or she likes some other kinky $&%* that’s a big NO for me. I’m not into that. I always judge the outwardly kinky ones as big teasers before I think they are good in bed.

Self: What is the weirdest thing a girl has ever told you she was into?

| 4: Last year I had a chick tell me that she liked to put spray whip in her cooch before oral.

Disclaimer: LADIES!! Don’t ever…EVER… E V E R  put any sugar/food based item near your NAUGHTY BITS! A balanced diet and lots of water will do your body just fine!

My answer ♀ |  Just like the majority of people, I will think about how the person I am into is in bed. Now let me be clear on something. THAT IS NOT MY INITIAL THOUGHT. If a person is interested in me for just sex and vice versa that’s a complete no go. I have to have an emotional connection with a person point blank. Now my thought process goes in a particular order…Sexual History is always first. I am not trying to catch anything! Second is Sexual Style…Are they romantic in bed? Are they lazy? Are they kinky?  Next are Limitations…I am not into the Dom and Sub 50 Shades Style sex. If you come at me with a riding crop and some rope two things will happen. I will either never speak to you again or we will fight! Lastly, my most frequent thought will be about Frequency. Are they a very sexual person that likes to have sex ALL OF THE TIME or are they rainy day love makers. These are questions that need answers people!

So now it’s your turn to figure it out! Grab your partner…Get out there, and get naked!…Just not in public because I don’t want anyone arrested.

Rocksbox Review: December 2016

Happy New Year Loves! Hopefully everyone had a great NYE weekend. It’s the beginning of the month…You know what that means? It’s time for a Rocksbox review! With this set, I was sent two items on my wish list and one that was randomly chosen. My stylist for this set was Jessica, and she hooked me up!

Rocksbox Stylist Memo

Being the December baby that I am…I was hoping that I would just love this set so that three things could happen…

1 | I could wear them for my birthday festivities

2 | Keep them as a wonderful gift to myself

3 | Give you guys an AWESOME review!

Needless to say all of these things happened! I will be keeping two of the three items. Why not all three? I’ll let you know in just a bit…Keep reading.

Compare & Contrast

When looking at the pictures, I noticed something that isn’t shown clearly. This is not a bad thing for me, but it could be for someone else. The necklace is a vintage gold color, while the ring and earrings are a bright yellow gold. They compliment each other, but they are not the exact same shade.

BONUS: I HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU SO KEEP READING! IF YOU FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM & TWITTER… YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT.

When I opened the box, the first piece I pulled out was my Olivia & Grace Hexagon Pave RingFrom the photo on the site, you can not tell the size of the actual ring. It could be a huge cocktail ring, or it could be a dainty little ring. The ring is medium in size, and the pave detailing around the stone make this piece look so elegant. I would feel comfortable wearing this ring whether I am dressed up or down.

The color of this ring is in Moonstone, but it also comes in another color that can be seen here!

The retail price for this ring is $115 USD

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price is $81 USD

The last time I received a Perry Street necklace was in my first Rocksbox set, and I immediately fell in love with the brand. They have yet to disappoint me. The Perry Street piece I received in this set is the Faye Statement Necklace . This necklace is tastefully crafted, and not too bulky. I like that! With the colors that were used, the piece needed some simplicity in the style. As my stylist Jessica mentioned above…The color combination is beautiful. However, it’s the topaz that brings everything together. That’s what sold me on this piece.

The retail price for this necklace is $59 USD

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price is $50 USD

I’m keeping this necklace! It’s mine…no questions asked. They have more of them I promise.

The last piece in my set is by Anita K. The Sweet Little Something Stud Set is a tiny treasure. Why do I say this? They are perfect for a few different things…

1 | If you don’t want to wear large stone or statement earrings

2 | If you have a second or third ear piercing and need some complimentary studs

3 | If you have on a large statement necklace and need some simple earrings

 Anita K Earrings

But…but…but…I will not be buying them. Why you ask? It’s not because I don’t like them…I lose studs like the average girl looses bobby pins! I know deep within my spirit that if I kept these earrings that I would only be able to locate one set of the three in about a month.

The retail price for this set is $63 USD

The Rocksbox Shine Insiders’ price is $53 USD
